Fight at the Flosse bridgehead

Half of Bishop Michheim's brigade stood at the western bridge on the Flosse that General Hohenspitz was assaulting. The troops hid behind heavy entrenchments, with a battalion of militia as reserve on the right bank.

The Böhnstadter army holds a demonstration of power.

The batteries are dragged up a hill and bombardment begins.

The guns are very effective at battering the Flossian trenches.

General Hohenspitz would have preferred that the Flossians retreat or yield after such effective artillery fire. However, the main line did not move: he gave order to attack.

The remaining Flossian forces retreated and blew up the bridge. The Principality troops had to march eastward to the second one.
